What is Xinjiang Construction Corps?

Xinjiang Construction Corps, referred to as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is a provincial-level special division planned by People's Republic of China (PRC). Headquartered in Urumqi, located in the northwest of China. It undertakes the responsibility of reclaiming land and guarding the border areas entrusted by the state and implements a special management system with a high degree of unity among the party, government, military and enterprises. Under the dual leadership of the Central Committee and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Corps mainly implements unified leadership and vertical management from top to bottom.
