Ink is the basic painting material of Chinese painting, which can be divided into oil smoke ink, Song Yanmo ink and lacquer smoke ink.

When it freezes, it generates oil smoke, which is divided into pine smoke oil smoke and oil smoke oil smoke. Smoke is an important raw material for making ink. Tobacco raw materials for ink making in China can be divided into two categories: pine smoke and oil smoke, of which pine smoke has the longest history.

Song Yanmo is made by cutting pine branches, burning smoke, screening smoke, melting glue, pestle ramming and tempering. The process is complex, characterized by thick and dull ink, fine and easy to grind. Song Yanmo will experience three winters and four summers, and many spices and tobacco leaves will be added to prevent insects from eating them.

3, lacquer smoke ink: extracted from lacquer resin, fine and shiny color, can be used as black pigment.

Su Mo: Overnight ink, with ink precipitation, is suitable for freehand brushwork, and meticulous painting cannot use Su Mo, which is easy to seep.

Selection of ink block: The longer the ink block is kept, the better. Ink block should be fine, moist, blue or purple, otherwise the quality is poor. When selecting ink blocks, lighter ink is the best.
