The Department of Medicine has a history of 44 years, and its predecessor was Southwest Guizhou Health School. Since its establishment, * * * has trained more than10,000 medical professionals.

The medical department offers five higher vocational majors: pharmacy, drug management, rehabilitation technology, health management and medical imaging technology. There are two majors in secondary vocational schools, rural medicine and pharmacy. Jointly run with Guiyang Medical College and Zunyi Medical College, with undergraduate and specialist majors in adult clinical medicine, pharmacy, imaging, anesthesia and laboratory.

The People's Government of Southwest Guizhou hired five experts and professors from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine as visiting professors in the Department of Medicine.
