The Hunchun Campus of Yanbian University is located at No. 5588, Zhanqian Street, Hunchun City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province.

Yanbian University is located in Yanji City, the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province, which enjoys the reputation of "Hometown of Education". It is a national "double first-class" construction university, a national "211 Project" key construction university, and a key development center in the western region. The construction of colleges and universities, the People's Government of Jilin Province and the Ministry of Education jointly support the construction of universities.

The school was founded in 1949 and is one of the earliest universities established by the Communist Party of China in minority areas. It currently has 20 colleges and 75 undergraduate majors; 8 first-level doctoral degree-authorized disciplines; 31 first-level master's degree-authorized disciplines, 5 second-level master's degree-authorized disciplines; 18 professional master's degree-authorized points, and 4 postdoctoral fellows.
