EY is one of the Big Four.

Ernst & Young was founded in 1989. It is a multinational professional services company headquartered in London, England. Its full name is Ernst & Young (English: Ernst&Young) and it is one of the four major international accounting firms.

The predecessors of Ernst & Young are Ernst & Ernst (merged into Ernst & Whinney after 1979) accounting firm established in Cleveland, USA in 1903, and Arthur Young Accounting Company established in New York, USA in 1894.

On May 19, 1989, Ernst & Whinney (EW, Ernst & Whinney), ranked fifth in the original eight major players in the world, and Arthur Young (AY, Arthur Young), ranked sixth, merged to form Ernst & Young (Ernst & Young) became the largest accounting firm in the world at the time.

It has two subsidiaries in mainland China, namely Ernst & Young Dahua Accounting LLP Co., Ltd. ("Ernst & Young Dahua") and Ernst & Young Hua Ming Shanghai Branch.

Ernst & Young was jointly established by Ernst & Young of Hong Kong and Shanghai Dahua Accounting Firm, and was approved by the Ministry of Finance Accounting (2001) No. 1020 and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation - Letter (2001) No. 1230 Approved Sino-foreign cooperative accounting firm. Shanghai Dahua Accounting Firm was founded by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 1985. It was once the largest accounting firm in China. Dahua is also one of the first accounting firms approved by the People's Bank of China to be qualified to engage in financial business auditing.
