Ocean crew members are also divided into ordinary crew members and senior crew members.

Ordinary seafarers, including sailors and mechanics, need to have basic safety, duty sailor or duty mechanic certificates, and pay for training in seafarers' training institutions or adult education colleges of maritime colleges before they can obtain certificates.
