Lichuan, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, is located in the southwest of Hubei Province, bordering Chongqing in the west, Enshi in the east, Xiaoxiang in the south and Three Gorges in the north. It is the largest and most populous county-level city in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, with fertile land and rich products. Known as "Silver Lichuan" and "Hometown of Gong Mi".

Lichuan City was founded in the 13th year of Qing Yongzheng (1735). Lichuan county has five Tusi, namely, Heather Tusi, Xiao Zhong Tusi, Zhonglu Tusi, Jiannan Tusi and Shaxi Tusi, which belong to Enshi County, Li Ting, and belong to Shinan House, Jing Xun Road. In the third year of the Republic of China (19 14), it belonged to Jingnan Road. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), it directly belonged to Hubei province. 1970, lichuan county belongs to Enshi area. 1986, lichuan county was abolished and county-level Lichuan City was established.

The geographical environment of Lichuan

Lichuan City is located in the southwest corner of Hubei Province, at the intersection of Wushan Remnant Vein and Wuling Mountain North Branch, and is the birthplace of Qingjiang River and Yujiang River. It is 7 1 1 km from Wuhan Highway, the capital of Hubei Province, and 100 km from Enshi Highway, the capital of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The ground span is 29 42' ~ 30 39' north latitude and108 21'~10918' east longitude.

It borders Enshi City in the east, Xianfeng County in the south, Qianjiang District and Pengshui County in Chongqing in the southwest, and borders Shizhu County, Wanzhou District, Yunyang County and fengjie county in turn from west to north. It is 92km long from east to west and 105km long from north to south, with a total area of 4606km2. It is the largest county-level city in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
