Application and properties of silicone structural adhesive

Silicone structural adhesive is a kind of high-performance and high-quality structural adhesive, which is mainly used for structural or non-structural bonding assembly between glass curtain wall metal and glass. Application and properties of silicone structural adhesive

Silicone glass glue will not flow due to its own weight, so it can be used for seams on the top or side walls without sinking, falling off or flowing away. Mainly used for bonding clean metal, glass, most oil-free wood, silicone, vulcanized silicone rubber, ceramics, natural and synthetic fibers and many painted plastic surfaces. Good quality silica gel glass glue will not be squeezed when used below zero degrees Celsius, and its physical properties will not change. The fully cured silicone glass glue can still be used at 204℃(400oF), but the effective time will be shortened when the temperature is as high as 2 18℃(428oF).

Weather resistance: silicone structural adhesive has strong weather resistance, ultraviolet resistance and aging resistance, which can meet the requirements of various environmental conditions.

How to use structural adhesive

Different types of structural adhesives are used in different ways, but they are basically the same. Taking BD8 1 1 high strength structural adhesive produced by Xiangfan Jilian Adhesive Factory as an example, the application method is illustrated.

1. surface treatment: roughen the parts that need to be repaired or bonded, and then clean them with cleaning agent.

2. Preparation: Mix the components A and B evenly according to the mass ratio of A:B=4: 1 or the volume ratio of 3: 1, and use them up within the specified operation time limit.

3. Coating: The prepared glue is evenly coated on the surface of the adhered object.

4. Curing: curing at 20 ~ 25℃ for 24 hours or curing at 20 ~ 25℃ for 2 hours+curing at 80℃ for 2 hours can be put into use. If the temperature is low, heating or extending the curing time should be used to promote curing.

High-performance silicone structural adhesive is a one-component neutral curing adhesive, which is specially designed for structural bonding and assembly of building curtain walls. It can be easily extruded and used at a wide air temperature, and cured into excellent and durable silicone rubber with high modulus and high elasticity by relying on moisture in the air.

2. Neutral transparent silicone structural adhesive

One-component, neutral curing, specially designed for the bonding and assembly of glass structures in building curtain walls. Can be easily extruded and used under a wide temperature condition. It is cured by moisture in the air into excellent and durable silicone rubber with high modulus and high elasticity. This product does not need to be primed on glass, and it can produce excellent adhesion.
