What problems should be paid attention to in the interview of architecture major, architectural design and job hunting? What questions will be asked in the interview of architecture major?
I do human resources work in the national top 500 construction groups, and I interview many graduates majoring in architecture every year. Write this article, hoping to give some guidance to the students who are about to work.
1, the construction company will let you introduce yourself first?
Tip: Most people answer this question too many times and only say their name, age, hobbies and work experience, which are all on their resumes. In fact, what the construction company wants to know most is whether the job seeker is competent, including: which construction company you have worked as an intern in, which one you are mainly responsible for, or what architectural design scheme you have done at school, or are good at hand-drawn architecture, etc. These must be related to your application. Don't say irrelevant things, such as handing out leaflets and washing dishes. None of these can add points in the competition, and enterprises want to recruit a person who can get started best.
2. Many construction companies like to ask you, what is your biggest weakness?
Tip: The probability of asking this question in the recruitment of construction companies is very high. Enterprises don't want to hear direct confirmation, such as: I'm lazy, I'm careless, I don't like cleanliness and so on. This behavior of truly exposing shortcomings is undoubtedly a reduction. Enterprises don't like smart answers. For example, my biggest weakness is not working hard, and my biggest weakness is being too serious. This answer is also a deduction. The answer that enterprises want is to start with their own advantages, add some small shortcomings in the middle, and finally turn back to their advantages and highlight their advantages. This is a smart job seeker.
3. What is your salary requirement?
Tip: don't be too low on salary, it is to belittle yourself and have no self-confidence. You can't demand too much salary, which makes it difficult for the company to support, feel that you can't stay, and the company can't afford it. In some construction companies, architects usually prepare a fixed salary in advance for the positions they apply for. They just want to make sure that the salary offered by the company is enough to arouse your interest in this job.
Answer: I don't have a rigid salary requirement. I believe your company will handle my problem in a friendly and reasonable way. I focus on finding suitable job opportunities, so as long as the conditions are fair, I won't care too much.
4. What architecture websites did you like during your school days?
Tip: Nowadays, the network is paid more and more attention by enterprises, and this problem will be mentioned more and more. But if you answer that you often go to QQ, Renren and Taobao at this time, you will feel that you will go to these websites during work hours and delay your work. What an enterprise may need is not a specific large-scale website, but your ability to sort out, summarize and analyze something.
You can answer this question like this: When I was at school, our school teacher recommended the website "Architects Forum" to us. I often go to architects' forums and other architectural websites related to my major. I think this website is very close to my major. I often publish my architectural design to the architects' forum, and many architects give me comments and revisions, which makes me see different opinions from all over the country and benefits me a lot. There is also the architectural books section, and I often look up some books to broaden my horizons. Many architectural design schemes and landscape schemes made by architects all over the country are worth learning.
5. What do you think of overtime?
Tip: Now many construction companies, especially architectural design institutes, often have to catch up with projects and need to work overtime. In fact, many companies ask this question, not to prove that they must work overtime in the future, but to test whether you are willing to contribute to the company.
Sample answer: I will be forced to work overtime if my job requires it. I am single now, I have no family burden, and I can devote myself to my work. But at the same time, I will also improve work efficiency and reduce unnecessary overtime.
If our company hires you today, one or two months later, you will find that this position is not suitable for you. What would you do?
Tip: If I find that this company is not suitable for me, I will analyze it carefully. If I love this company and this position, then I will find my own reasons. Is it because I didn't study hard and humbly ask my predecessors for business knowledge and experience to understand the professional requirements of this position? If you think this profession is dispensable, changing it as soon as possible is good for both the unit and the individual.
7. What do you think about job-hopping?
Answer: ① Normal job-hopping can promote the rational flow of talents and should be supported. Frequent job-hopping is not good for units and individuals and should be opposed.
