Where is the Mengzhuang site in Huixian County?

Mengzhuang Site in Huixian County is a national key cultural relic protection unit.

Mengzhuang Site is located in the east of Mengzhuang Village, Mengzhuang Town, huixian city City, Henan Province, and is a site from Neolithic Age to Shang and Zhou Dynasties.

The cultural connotation of this site is very rich and lasts for a long time. The lowest layer of the site is the Peiligang cultural layer about 8000 ~ 7000 years ago, which is piled up in turn into Yangshao cultural layer, Longshan cultural layer and Erlitou cultural layer. It is particularly important that three overlapping city sites, Longshan Culture, Erlitou Culture and Late Shang Dynasty, were found in the site. Among them, the site of Longshan Cultural City covers an area of 6.5438+0.3 million square meters, including city walls, gates, moats, foundations of many houses, ash pits and wells in the city. Mengzhuang site has a large area and rich cultural connotation. Its discovery established a systematic archaeological chronological sequence in northern Henan for the first time, which provided a basis for the study of archaeological culture in this area.

The discovery of Mengzhuang, Erlitou culture and Triassic Chenglongshan culture in the late Shang Dynasty provided material data for studying the transition from the late primitive society to the class society and exploring the origin of ancient civilization in China.
