What is the production process of mahogany decoration?

1. Cutting: After the logs are transported back to the factory, the carpenters will saw the logs into boards with different thicknesses, which will be matched with each other in length and comprehensive utilization, so as to reduce waste and save scarce resources of mahogany.

2. Drying treatment: classify the plates with different thicknesses and put them into a drying kiln for drying. Generally, the thick plate needs to be dried for about 40 days, and the thin plate needs to be dried for about 15 days until the moisture content of the plate reaches 8%- 12%. At present, many mahogany manufacturers have better drying methods, but the process is at least 10 day. Because the balance between wood and local humidity should be controlled, the furniture made in the future is not easy to crack and deform.

3. Processing flow: Cutting personnel need to saw the dried wood into appropriate sizes according to the needs of different parts of the drawings, and then make the sizes more accurate by planing, and then tenon. At present, tenons are usually tenoned by machines, because the solid foundation of mahogany decoration structure is based on meticulous processing technology. Therefore, the precision of machinery, the sharpness of tools and the proficiency of skills are indispensable.

4. Carving process: Generally, there are some simple or complex carvings in mahogany decoration, so before assembly, the carpenter has to send the board to the carving workshop, and carving is a very time-consuming and delicate work, and according to the different carving methods, the proficiency of workers and the complexity of patterns need different time. For example, the carved patterns around the bed are complicated, and even skilled old workers need to spend more than a month carving.

5. Assembly: After the panel is carved, it is sent back to the woodworking workshop and the assembly process begins. Slowly, a prototype came out. In the process of assembly, we must grasp the tightness of tenon and mortise and the fit of joints, otherwise the tight hard copy will cause cracks in the wood, and the loose copy will make it twist and fall apart.

6. Scraping: At this stage, although the whole line came out, the whole surface looked rough, so the scraping process came. Scraping is an important step in the production process, which directly affects consumers' first impression of mahogany decoration. The scraping process of a Lohan bed requires three workers to polish it for at least 20 days to remove the parts around the bed. It can be seen that it is a very time-consuming and laborious link to make the furniture surface smooth and round.

7. Painting or waxing: Painting or waxing is the last process in the production process. At present, some products sold on the market are directly listed for sale after polishing, without painting or waxing. But most of them need further painting or waxing. Generally, the mahogany furniture made in the south is painted more, while the north is used to waxing or playing walnut oil. The painting process also takes a long time. Generally, it takes several times to paint, and the last paint is dried in the shade. The whole process takes at least 15 days.
