Why did the chip industry in China start late?

China's chips started not too late, but developed slowly.

China's chips have been unable to develop, mainly for several reasons. First, there is a shortage of talents. Secondly, due to the influence of the real environment in China, more elites tend to finance, and less attention is paid to scientific and technological talents. Coupled with the long-standing official-oriented thinking and contempt for ordinary technical talents, a large number of scientific and technological talents have lost overseas or directly changed careers.

Due to the long cycle time, slow effect and high capital requirements, the investment in the front end of the chip is also very large. Compared with short-term projects, long-term investment will definitely have higher and more stable final income, but from the perspective of popularity, short-term investment is obviously more favored by investors. Impetuous environment, coupled with the current situation of eager to gain benefits, make China's chip front-end R&D lack of corresponding funds, which makes China's chip development slow.
