The four famous embroideries of Hunan embroidery, Su embroidery and Shu embroidery

Suzhou embroidery, Hunan embroidery, Guangdong embroidery and Shu embroidery are the four famous Ming embroideries in my country.

1. Su embroidery

Su embroidery is the general name for embroidery products in the Jiangsu region centered on Suzhou, Jiangsu. Legend has it that it was Zhongyong's granddaughter "Nvhong" who created it.

Su embroidery is famous for its exquisiteness and elegance, involving decorative paintings, such as oil paintings, traditional Chinese paintings, etc., and practical products, such as clothing, handkerchiefs, scarves, greeting cards, etc.

2. Hunan embroidery

Hunan embroidery was developed by absorbing the advantages of Suzhou embroidery and other embroideries. It is a general name for embroidery products centered in Changsha, Hunan.

Hunan embroidery is based on Chinese painting, using more than 70 stitches and more than 100 colors of embroidery threads to meticulously depict the "appearance and inner quality" of objects. The embroidery forms are vivid, realistic and stylish. Bold and bold.

3. Cantonese embroidery

Guangdong embroidery is the general name for Guangdong embroidery and Chaozhou embroidery, with Guangzhou and Chaozhou cities in Guangdong Province as the production centers.

The biggest feature of Cantonese embroidery is that the composition is full and magnificent, and there are often few gaps. Even if there are gaps, they must be supplemented by landscapes, grasslands, tree roots, etc., making it appear lively and compact.

4. Shu Embroidery

Shu embroidery, also known as "Sichuan embroidery", is the general name for Sichuan embroidery products centered in Chengdu.

Shu embroidery also has a long history. According to the "Huayang Guozhi" of the Jin Dynasty, embroidery in Shu was already very famous at that time, and Shu embroidery was regarded as a famous local product of Shu, along with Shu brocade.

Shu embroidery uses soft satin and colored silk as the main raw materials, and has more than 100 stitches. It is rigorous and delicate, bright and smooth, has a clear composition, rich and round, and bright colors. It gives full play to the expertise of hand embroidery and has a strong local style.
