Legal analysis: (1) Different types of insurance: This is the most obvious difference between individual social security payment and unit social security payment, because individual social security payment can only pay pension insurance and medical insurance, and the social security paid by unit is relatively extensive;

Including pension insurance, medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, so the social security paid by the unit provides more protection than that paid by the individual.

(2) Different payment amount: if an individual pays social security, the payment ratio is generally 20%, and then according to the local average salary and some payment grades provided by the social security department, the lowest grade is 60% and the highest grade is 300%;

But the social security paid by the unit is different. The proportion of payment is generally a part of the personal contribution paid by the company. Endowment insurance is that the unit pays 20% per month, the individual pays 40%, the individual pays 2%, and the company pays 9%.

(3) Participating in insurance in different places: those who pay social security have participated in urban and rural residents' insurance or the new rural cooperative medical system as flexible employees;

Legal basis: Article 58 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC): The employing unit shall register social insurance for employees within 30 days from the date of employment. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay. Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration. The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
