What is the meaning of the number of participants in the enterprise

The number of participants is the number of people participating in social insurance.

The number of insured persons refers to the number of employees of urban enterprises and institutions who have participated in unemployment insurance in accordance with national laws, regulations and relevant policies, as well as the number of other persons who have participated in unemployment insurance as stipulated by local governments at the end of the reporting period.

The type of participation refers to the insured's participation in the appropriate capacity according to their own situation. China's current social security has two types of participation: one is the residents' pension insurance system, mainly the urban residents' pension insurance and the new rural insurance system, which covers both urban and rural residents, and the other is the basic employees' pension insurance system, including the enterprise employees' pension insurance system and the retirement system of institutions, which covers employees.

To participate in the insurance, you need to apply at the social security bureau where the unit is registered, and you need to fill out the relevant materials and provide the original and copy of the industrial and commercial business license, the original and copy of the local tax registration certificate, the organization code, a copy of the identity card of the insured employee, and the recent payroll table of the participating units and other materials.

Method of collecting social insurance premiums: proportional premium system.

This method is based on the wage income of the insured, and stipulates a certain percentage, so as to collect insurance premiums. The main purpose of social insurance is to compensate the insured for the loss of income during the period of risky accidents in order to maintain his/her minimum living standard. Therefore, it is necessary to refer to his/her income on which he/she usually depends for his/her living standard on the one hand, and the basis of premium calculation on the other hand.

The greatest defect of the proportional premium system based on work is that the burden of social insurance is directly linked to wages. Whether both employers and employees pay social insurance premiums or one of them pays social insurance premiums, the burden of social insurance is manifested in an increase in the cost of labor, which results in the crowding out of labor by capital, thus causing an increase in unemployment.
