What should be implemented to improve the social security system?

Next, we will enter the second phase of the series of programs to study, publicize and implement the Party's Twenty Great Spirits. On perfecting the social security system, it is said in the Party's Report to the 20th CPC National Congress!

1. Improve the multi-level social security system covering the whole people, coordinating urban and rural areas, being fair, unified, safe, standardized and sustainable.

2. Improve the national overall planning system for basic old-age insurance and develop a multi-level and multi-pillar old-age insurance system.

3. Gradually delay the statutory retirement age.

4. Expand the coverage of social insurance, improve the financing and treatment adjustment mechanism of basic old-age insurance and basic medical insurance, and promote the provincial-level overall planning of basic medical insurance, unemployment insurance and industrial injury insurance.

5. Promote the orderly connection of multi-level medical security, improve the system of serious illness insurance and medical assistance, implement medical settlement in different places, establish a long-term care insurance system, and actively develop commercial medical insurance.

6. Accelerate the improvement of the national unified social insurance public service platform.

7. Improve the value-added and safety supervision system of social security funds.

8. Improve the social security system and care service system for the disabled and promote the all-round development of the cause of the disabled.
