Self-employed individuals can buy social security for themselves or their employees. The Social Insurance Law stipulates that self-employed individuals can pay social security, only pension insurance and medical insurance.

The conditions for individual industrial and commercial households to purchase social security are: registered business license and organization code certificate, and at the same time qualified to handle social security accounts and purchase social security.

People with local hukou can pay social security through the social security bureau or unit where the hukou is located, instead of local hukou or rural hukou, and can only participate in insurance through the unit.

As an employer, it shall also conclude a written labor contract with the hired employee within one month from the date of employment; With the business license, registration certificate or unit seal, apply for social insurance registration to the local social insurance agency within 30 days from the date of establishment; And apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees within 30 days from the date of employment. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Failing to apply for social insurance registration in accordance with the provisions, according to the provisions of Article 84 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the social insurance administrative department shall order it to make corrections within a time limit; If no correction is made within the time limit, the employer shall be fined between one and three times the amount of social insurance premiums payable, and the directly responsible person in charge and other directly responsible personnel shall be fined between 500 yuan and 3,000 yuan.
