How to activate the medical insurance card?

There are several ways to activate the medical insurance card:

1. Bank outlets are activated. Bring the original social security card and ID card to the bank outlet for activation;

2. The designated hospital is activated. You can also activate the social security card for registration, hospitalization, outpatient and other registration services in designated hospitals;

3. The designated pharmacy is activated. You can insert a social security card to buy medicine at the designated pharmacy of medical insurance cooperation, and directly enable social security card consumption;

4. AliPay activation.

The documents required to obtain a medical insurance card are as follows:

1. If the applicant handles it himself, please hold the original valid identity certificate;

2. If the applicant is a minor, it is necessary to provide the original and photocopy of the applicant's valid ID card or household registration book, and the original and photocopy of the guardian's valid ID card;

3. If the applicant applies for agency, it is required to provide the original ID cards of both parties, a copy of the agent's ID card, a letter of introduction or power of attorney from the unit, and a recent electronic photo of the applicant on a white background;

4. If the applicant applies for the agency of immediate family members, it is required to provide the original valid ID cards of both parties, the original household registration book, the recent electronic photos of the applicant with a white background and proof of the marital status of the spouse.

To sum up, the activation method of social security function is the first time (free of charge) to set the medical insurance card password for the insured: enter the original medical insurance card password with a new card in the designated pharmacy and activate the new card directly. After the social security card is activated, the original medical insurance card password will still be used. Insured personnel who have not set the medical insurance card password: use the original medical insurance card to activate the new card in the designated pharmacy. All medical insurance participants: use social security cards to directly enable social security functions in designated hospitals.

Article 58

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
