Do veterans buy social security for several years as soldiers?

The relationship between years of service as a soldier and social security is that length of military service can be regarded as the payment period of social security.

The Military Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), which came into effect on July 20 12, clearly stipulates that the state will give retired military personnel pension insurance subsidies if they retire from active service to participate in basic pension insurance. Soldiers who participate in the basic old-age insurance for employees after retiring from active service shall be combined with the payment period of participating in the basic old-age insurance for employees before enlisting and after retiring from active service.

However, this refers to the soldiers who were discharged on or after July 20 12 1 day. If they retire early, they will not meet this requirement.

Length of military service can calculate the social security payment period. Social security is generally regarded as a "deemed payment" period, and it is included in the pension when retired. The state clearly stipulates that military retirement pension insurance, as one of the eight insurance benefits enjoyed by military personnel, is a subsidy given by the state to ensure that military personnel enjoy the pension insurance benefits stipulated by the state after retirement and solve the problem of military-civilian connection in the pension insurance policy. The relationship between years of service as a soldier and social security is that length of military service can be regarded as the payment period of social security.

Secondly, before the military pension insurance system was implemented, there were two situations. First, before the implementation of the basic old-age insurance system for enterprise employees, length of military service automatically converted it into length of service after allocation and resettlement. If the allocation and resettlement period does not exceed one year, it can be combined and calculated as general length of service.

According to the current social insurance policy, length of military service, a demobilized soldier, is regarded as the payment period of old-age insurance, which is calculated cumulatively with the actual payment period of basic old-age insurance.

Legal basis: Article 2 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) The state establishes social insurance systems such as basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance, maternity insurance, etc., to protect citizens' right to get material help from the state and society according to law in case of old age, illness, industrial injury, unemployment and maternity.
