(2) 2018 Shanghai Provident Fund Contribution Base

July 1, 2018 onwards, the contribution base of the housing provident fund for employees in Shanghai was adjusted from the 2016 average monthly salary to the 2017 average monthly salary.

Wherein, the lower limit of monthly contribution is 322 yuan and the upper limit is 2,996 yuan.

Remarks: Employees newly joining the workforce from January 1, 2018 onwards shall take the full month's payable salary income of the month in which the employee joins the workforce for the second month of the workforce, or take the average monthly salary actually paid since he/she joins the workforce for the new workforce as the base of his/her housing provident fund contribution.

An employee who is newly transferred to the job from January 1, 2018, shall take the full month's payable salary income of the month in which the transfer is issued or the average monthly salary actually issued since the employee's new entry into the job as his/her housing provident fund contribution base.
