Will social security and rural insurance merge in the future?

Rural cooperative and social security cannot be paid at the same time.

Similarly, the predecessor of the basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents is the new rural cooperative medical system (NCMS) and the basic medical insurance for urban residents.

In 20 16, the state issued regulations to integrate the new rural cooperative medical system with the social medical insurance for urban residents and establish a unified basic medical insurance system for urban and rural residents.
