The payment period of medical insurance shall be implemented according to the following provisions: (The implementation time of these Measures is 2009 1)

(a) before the implementation of these measures, the units and individual industrial and commercial households with employees have participated in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in this Municipality, and paid the fees continuously and reached the statutory retirement age. After the relevant departments have gone through retirement procedures and received pensions, they will no longer pay the basic medical insurance premium and continue to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits;

(II) Before the implementation of these measures, state-owned and collective enterprises, government agencies and institutions that have participated in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in this Municipality, and employees who have terminated their labor relations with their original units after bankruptcy, restructuring or institutional reform shall continue to participate in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in their personal capacity, pay fees to the statutory retirement age, and continue to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits after the relevant departments have gone through retirement procedures and received pensions;

(3) Before the implementation of these measures, the insured who has been approved to pay the basic medical insurance premium for hospitalization will reach the statutory retirement age, and continue to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits after the relevant departments go through the retirement procedures and receive the pension according to the relevant provisions of the state, province and city;

(4) Before the implementation of these Measures, if the insured individuals have paid the basic medical insurance premium 15 years, they will reach the legal retirement age, and will not pay the basic medical insurance premium after the relevant departments have gone through the retirement formalities and received the pension according to the relevant provisions of the state, province and city. If the cumulative payment period of basic medical insurance premium is less than 15, the payment will continue according to the regulations until the cumulative payment period reaches15;

(5) After the implementation of these measures, those who participated in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in this Municipality for the first time will not pay the basic medical insurance premium after they have paid for 15 years continuously or accumulated for 20 years, reached the legal retirement age and went through retirement formalities and received pensions at the relevant departments according to the relevant provisions of the state, province and city. If the continuous payment of basic medical insurance premium is less than 15 or the accumulated payment of basic medical insurance premium is less than 20 years, the payment will continue until the continuous payment period reaches 15 or the accumulated payment period reaches 20 years.
