The amount of money an individual has to pay for social security = the proportion of individual social security contributions * the base of individual social security contributions

The monthly social security contributions to the base of the monthly social security contributions for the period of June 2015 to May 2016 for the flexibly employed people (i.e., the wages of the contributions) is a maximum of 4,372 yuan, minimum 2623 yuan.

Flexible workers who are enrolled in the social security program for urban workers can contribute to both basic pension and basic medical insurance.

The basic pension insurance contribution rate is 20%, and the contribution base is divided into five grades according to 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100% of the average monthly salary of the employees on duty in the previous year in the province, and the insured person chooses a grade on his/her own; the monthly contributions for the five grades approved by the government are: RMB 525, RMB 612, RMB 699, RMB 787, and RMB 874, respectively.
