How should social security work be done?

1. Social security refers to social insurance, which is a government-led insurance system.

In a narrow sense, social security refers to five types of insurance for urban workers: pension, medical care, unemployment, work injury and maternity, that is, the five types of insurance that the unit has to pay to employees.

Social security in a broad sense, in addition to the above five kinds of insurance, also includes medical insurance for urban residents (for people without jobs in urban hukou, children and the elderly who do not enjoy or do not meet the conditions for enjoying employee social security).

In addition, there are new rural old-age insurance and new rural cooperative medical care, which are aimed at people with rural hukou who don't work in the unit and can't enjoy social security for employees.

3. Farmers can't pay employees' social security in their own names. If there is no unit, you can only participate in the new rural insurance and the new rural cooperative medical system.

Social insurance is only an important part of social security. The concept of social security is broader, and subsistence allowances and civil assistance can all be regarded as the contents of social security.

5. Endowment insurance is only an insurance in social security. Strictly speaking, social security is not equal to old-age insurance, but broader than old-age insurance. But in practice, many people treat social security and endowment insurance equally, which is actually wrong.
