Can I pay social security while receiving unemployment benefits?
Payment of social security during the period of receiving unemployment insurance benefits:
1. Individuals don't have to pay medical insurance premiums for employees, but they are borne by unemployment insurance funds, and other types of unemployment insurance funds are not responsible for paying them;
2. Old-age insurance can choose not to pay or continue to pay as a flexible employee;
3. Unemployment, maternity and work-related injury insurance cannot be paid during the period of receiving unemployment benefits.
Unemployment insurance refers to a system that is enforced by the state through legislation, and the employers, employees' individual contributions and state financial subsidies jointly raise funds to establish an unemployment insurance fund to provide material help to workers who have temporarily suspended their lives due to unemployment, to ensure their basic livelihood, and to create conditions for their re-employment through vocational training and employment introduction.

The purpose of unemployment insurance is to protect the basic needs of the unemployed, which is mainly applicable to the unemployed in urban enterprises and institutions. Unemployment insurance is paid from the unemployment insurance fund according to law. Urban enterprises and institutions pay unemployment insurance premiums at 2% of total wages. Employees of urban enterprises and institutions pay unemployment insurance premiums according to one percent of their wages. Eligibility for unemployment benefits
1. Unemployed persons who meet the following conditions can receive unemployment insurance benefits and enjoy other unemployment insurance benefits according to regulations:
(1) has participated in unemployment insurance as required, and the employer and I have fulfilled the payment obligations as required for 1 year;
(2) Discontinue employment without my own will;
(3) It has registered for unemployment according to legal procedures;
(4) Persons who have job requirements and are willing to accept vocational training and job introduction.
2. Employees' involuntary termination of employment includes the following situations:
(1) The labor contract is terminated;
(2) The employer terminates the labor contract;
(3) The employer fails to provide working conditions as required and proposes to terminate the labor contract;
(4) The employer forces labor by means of violence, coercion or restriction of personal freedom, and proposes to terminate the labor contract;
(5) Where the employer deducts wages, defaults on wages or fails to pay the remuneration for extending working hours as required, and proposes to terminate the labor contract;
(6) The wage paid by the employer is lower than the local minimum wage standard or the wage standard agreed in the collective contract, and the labor contract is terminated;
(7) The employer detains identity, qualification, length of service and other documents, and proposes to terminate the labor contract;
(8) The employer fails to pay social insurance premiums according to law and proposes to terminate the labor contract;
(nine) as otherwise provided by laws and regulations.

During the period of receiving unemployment insurance benefits, the unemployed participate in the basic medical insurance for employees and enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits.
The basic medical insurance premiums payable by the unemployed are paid from the unemployment insurance fund, and individuals do not pay the basic medical insurance premiums.
Article 49
Unemployed people who die during the period of receiving unemployment insurance benefits shall be given a one-time funeral subsidy and pension for their survivors with reference to local regulations on the death of on-the-job employees. The required funds are paid from the unemployment insurance fund.
If an individual dies and meets the conditions for receiving basic old-age insurance, industrial injury insurance and unemployment insurance funeral subsidies, his survivors can only choose to receive one of them.
