Do I have to pay social security for a residence permit in Shanghai?

1. If not, you must have a Shanghai hukou and pay for it yourself.

2. Paid by the unit. At present, there is no residence permit restriction for Shanghai to pay social security, and social security can be paid by the unit for the foreign urban hukou.
