Social security includes five insurances, and the full name of social security is social insurance, which is what people usually say. Five major risks:

1. Old-age insurance: A social insurance system in which workers get certain economic compensation, material help and services from the government and society after reaching the legal retirement age.

2. Medical insurance: The basic medical insurance system for urban employees is a social insurance system established to ensure the basic medical needs of employees according to the affordability of finance, enterprises and individuals.

3. Work-related injury insurance: Work-related injury insurance is also called occupational injury insurance.

4. Unemployment insurance: Unemployment insurance is a system enforced by the state through legislation, and funds are set up by the society to provide material assistance to workers who temporarily suspend their livelihood due to unemployment.

5. Maternity insurance: When working women temporarily stop working and lose their normal income due to childbirth, the state or society will provide material assistance.

Social insurance:

(1) To pay in the name of an individual, you need to apply to the social security bureau where your household registration is located. Procedures include: my ID card, two recent bareheaded one-inch photos, insurance premium, application form, etc. And can only apply for pension and medical insurance.

(2) Or purchase social security as an agent to pay. According to your specific situation, it is a foreign hukou, and you can only buy social security through your unit.

Legal basis:

Article 57 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of its establishment, apply to the local social insurance agency for social insurance registration with its business license, registration certificate or unit seal. The social insurance agency shall, within fifteen days from the date of receiving the application, examine and issue the social insurance registration certificate.

Where the social insurance registration items of the employing unit are changed or the employing unit is terminated according to law, it shall, within 30 days from the date of change or termination, go to the social insurance agency to handle the change or cancellation of social insurance registration.

The administrative department for industry and commerce, the civil affairs department and the organization management organ shall promptly notify the social insurance agency of the establishment and termination of the employing unit, and the public security organ shall promptly notify the social insurance agency of the birth, death, household registration, transfer and cancellation of an individual.

The social insurance fund shall determine the source of funds according to the types of insurance and gradually implement social pooling. Employers and workers must participate in social insurance and pay social insurance premiums according to law.
