How to use social security card for the first time

The social security card should be activated for the first time. After activation, if the payment reaches a certain period, the parties can directly bring their social security cards, ID cards and other materials to social security agencies, designated hospitals or pharmacies for use.

Article 2 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the state shall establish social insurance systems such as basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, so as to guarantee citizens' right to get material help from the state and society in the event of old age, illness, industrial injury, unemployment and childbirth.

Article 4 Employers and individuals in People's Republic of China (PRC) shall pay social insurance premiums according to law, and have the right to inquire about payment records and personal rights and interests records, and ask social insurance agencies to provide social insurance consultation and other related services.

Individuals enjoy social insurance benefits according to law and have the right to supervise the payment of their own units.

Article 29

The medical expenses of the insured shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund, and shall be directly settled by social insurance agencies, medical institutions and pharmaceutical business units.
