The working hours of the Social Security Institute are from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday). The Institute of Social Security is a social security research institute, whose main responsibilities are to engage in research on basic theories and macro policies of social security, and provide theoretical support for the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the State to develop the social security system; to engage in research on the implementation policies of social security, and provide research reports and suggestions for the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the government to formulate social security-related policies; to carry out consulting services on social security, and serve the grass-roots level and the relevant units; to carry out international and domestic social security academic exchanges and cooperation.

The main programs of social insurance include pension insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work injury insurance, and maternity insurance.
