Legal Basis: Provisions on Payment of Social Security by Foreigners Article 3 Foreigners employed by enterprises, institutions, social organizations, private non-enterprise units, foundations, law firms, accounting firms and other organizations registered in China (hereinafter referred to as employers) shall participate in basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, work-related injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance for employees in accordance with the law, and the employers and themselves shall pay social insurance premiums in accordance with the regulations.
