Do students have to pay social security fees?

Students pay social security fees as follows:

1, but it needs to meet the age requirements. Citizens above 16 can participate in social insurance, regardless of their identity, but students do not belong to enterprise employees, and enterprises do not have labor customs departments, so they can't participate in the old-age insurance for urban employees and can only buy social insurance for urban and rural residents;

2. There are two kinds of social security as a whole. One is for the employment group, called employee social security, and the other is for the unemployed group, called urban and rural residents social security. Of course, students are unemployed and can only buy a second one.

Legal basis: Article 58 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law.

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.

Article 59

The people's governments at or above the county level shall strengthen the collection of social insurance premiums.

Social insurance premiums shall be uniformly collected, and the implementation steps and specific measures shall be stipulated by the State Council.
