As long as the birth of a child is in accordance with the national and municipal policies on family planning, the woman is entitled to 128 days of maternity leave, and the woman worker, with the consent of the authorities, enterprises, institutions, social groups and other organizations in which she is employed, may be granted an additional leave of one to three months.　

The Municipal Regulations on Population and Family Planning stipulate that: Chapter 4: Rewards and Social Security Article 18 If a female worker in an organ, enterprise, institution, social organization or other organization gives birth in accordance with the regulations, she shall be entitled to maternity incentive leave of thirty days in addition to the maternity leave provided by the State, and her spouse shall be entitled to paternity leave of fifteen days. During the period of leave for a female worker and her spouse, the institution, enterprise, institution, social organization or other organization may not reduce her salary, dismiss her, or terminate her labour or employment contract.　　With the consent of the institution, enterprise, institution, social group or other organization in which she works, a female worker may be granted additional leave of one to three months.　　Article 7 of the Special Provisions on Labor Protection for Female Workers and Employees: Female workers are entitled to 98 days of maternity leave for childbirth, of which 15 days may be taken prior to the birth; in the event of a difficult birth, the maternity leave shall be increased by 15 days; in the event of the birth of a multiple child, the maternity leave shall be increased by 15 days for each additional child.　　If a female worker is pregnant for less than 4 months and miscarries, she is entitled to 15 days of maternity leave; if she is pregnant for 4 months and miscarries, she is entitled to 42 days of maternity leave.
