Do I have to go in person to open a social endowment insurance certificate?

You must do it in person, not on your behalf.

When issuing insurance certificates to social insurance agencies, the applicant shall provide the following supporting materials:

(a) the insured unit shall fill in the Social Insurance Registration Form when issuing the certificate of the insured person of the unit, and provide the Social Insurance Registration Certificate, the application letter of the unit (indicating the purpose), the original and photocopy of the applicant's ID card.

(2) If an individual issues an insurance certificate, the original ID card shall be provided.

(three) law enforcement departments should fill in the "social insurance registration form" when issuing certificates, and provide the letter of introduction from the unit (including the applicant's name and certification content), the original and photocopy of the applicant's ID card (or work permit).

(4) When the law firm issues the relevant certificates of entrusting the client, it shall fill in the registration form of social insurance participation inquiry, and provide the original and photocopy of the client's ID card, the power of attorney (specifying the entrusted matters), the letter of introduction from the unit, and the original and photocopy of the client's ID card.

(5) When entrusting an individual to issue relevant certificates of the insured, he/she must fill in the Registration Form for Social Insurance Participation Inquiry, and provide the original and photocopy of the client's ID card, the original and photocopy of the trustee's ID card, and the power of attorney (indicating the entrusted matters).
