Did China have social security in the 1980s?

That was before the implementation of social security.

In the early 1990s, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Labor respectively launched the old-age insurance scheme, and the provinces chose to conduct pilot projects. (Medical insurance is a national pilot in Jiujiang, Jiangxi and Zhenjiang, Jiangsu).

1995 or so, the old-age insurance policy for enterprise employees was implemented and personal accounts began to be established.

The length of service before the establishment of individual account is regarded as the payment period.
