/kloc-can I pay social security at the age of 0/6?

Rural residents who have reached the age of 16 and have not participated in the basic old-age insurance for urban workers may voluntarily participate in the new rural social old-age insurance at their domicile. Non-employed urban residents who have reached the age of 16 and do not meet the conditions for participating in the basic old-age insurance for employees may voluntarily participate in the old-age insurance for urban residents at their domicile. Eligible individuals can pay social insurance from the age of 16.

Social security qualification:

Individuals over 1 and 16 who have reached the legal working age can participate in social insurance;

2 employees of enterprises, institutions, organs and other organizations shall participate in social insurance;

3. Flexible employees, including freelancers and individual industrial and commercial households, can voluntarily participate in social insurance;

4. The unemployed shall continue to participate in social insurance during the period of receiving unemployment insurance benefits;

5. Retirees continue to enjoy social insurance benefits after retirement.

To sum up, rural and urban non-employed residents aged 16 can choose to voluntarily participate in the new rural social endowment insurance or urban residents' endowment insurance at their domicile, thus starting to pay social insurance.

Article 10

Employees shall participate in the basic old-age insurance, and the employer and employees shall jointly pay the basic old-age insurance premium. Individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in the basic old-age insurance in the employer and other flexible employees can participate in the basic old-age insurance, and individuals pay the basic old-age insurance premium. The measures for the endowment insurance of civil servants and staff managed by reference to the Civil Service Law shall be formulated by the State Council.

Employers are prohibited from recruiting/kloc-minors under the age of 0/6. When recruiting minors under the age of 16, literary, artistic, sports and special arts and crafts units must abide by the relevant provisions of the state and guarantee their right to receive compulsory education.
