Three items that social security must pay.

Social security is compulsory to pay five insurances instead of three insurances, but there are three insurances, and individual employees also need to pay in proportion. Social insurance includes endowment insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, industrial injury insurance and maternity insurance. Among them, pension, medical care and unemployment insurance are paid by enterprises and individuals according to a certain proportion respectively, and the part paid by individuals is withheld and remitted by enterprises. Industrial injury and maternity insurance are all borne and paid by enterprises, and individuals do not need to bear this part of the insurance costs. Employers and workers must participate in social insurance and pay social insurance premiums according to law. If the employer fails to apply for social security for employees or underpays social security, it is illegal, and employees can complain to the local social security bureau.

For individual employees, the industrial injury insurance and maternity insurance in the five insurances are entirely borne by enterprises, and individuals do not need to pay. The remaining three insurances, namely, endowment insurance, medical insurance and maternity insurance, shall be borne by enterprises and individuals. Insurance can protect citizens' right to get material help from the state and society in the case of old age, illness, work injury, unemployment and childbirth to the maximum extent.

The state establishes social insurance systems such as basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, so as to guarantee citizens' right to receive material assistance from the state and society in accordance with the law when they are old, sick, injured, unemployed and have children.
