Can social security late fees be exempted?

Legal analysis: social security late fees cannot be reduced. Whoever owes money will pay a late fee of 0.5% per day according to the amount you owe. If the time is long and the amount is large, the late payment fee will be considerable.

Legal basis: Article 86 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that if the employer fails to pay the social insurance premium in full and on time, the social insurance collection agency shall order it to pay it within a time limit or make up for it, and an overdue fine of 0.5 ‰ shall be added daily from the date of default.

The amount of overdue fine increased in the second paragraph of Article 45 of the Administrative Compulsory Law of the People's Republic of China shall not be higher than the unpaid social insurance premium.
