Does applying for social security mean paying social security?

Applying for social security is not the same as paying social security.

Applying for social security refers to reporting the identity information, payment base and social security expenses of the insured to the social insurance agency, so that the insured can enjoy the rights and interests of the social insurance system. Social security fee refers to the social security fee paid jointly by individuals and employers according to a certain proportion according to the payment base of the insured and the provisions of the social insurance system. Individuals and employers need to pay social insurance premiums, such as endowment insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work injury insurance, maternity insurance, etc. The proportion and payment base of social insurance premiums paid by individuals and employers depend on the provisions of different social insurance systems. Under normal circumstances, individuals and employers each pay a certain percentage of social insurance premiums.

The social security payment period is stipulated as follows:

1, the cumulative payment period of medical insurance (including the deemed payment period and actual payment period in this city) shall be 30 years for men and 25 years for women;

2. The social insurance plan is organized by the government, forcing a certain group to use part of its income as social insurance tax to form a social insurance fund, from which the insured can obtain fixed income and loss compensation;

3. Pay the basic old-age insurance premium 15 years and the basic medical insurance premium for 20 years in the same city. When retiring, it will be calculated according to the standard of the city where the payment is made;

4 to participate in the basic old-age insurance, individuals who have reached the statutory retirement age and accumulated contributions for fifteen years, receive the basic pension on a monthly basis.

To sum up, applying for social security and paying social security fees are two different concepts. Insured persons need to declare social security information to the social insurance agency and pay the corresponding social security fees to the social insurance fund according to regulations in order to enjoy the rights and interests of the social insurance system.
