The fraudulent claiming of pensions is an act of social insurance fraud, which undermines the fairness and impartiality of the national pension insurance and mutual assistance, and leads to the aggravation of the imbalance between the income and expenditure of the social insurance fund.

According to the Social Insurance Law, if a person fraudulently obtains social insurance benefits by means of fraud, falsification of documents or other means, the social insurance administrative department shall order the return of the fraudulently obtained social insurance benefits, and impose a fine of not less than two and not more than five times the amount of the fraudulently obtained benefits. The discovery of fraudulent pension problems, to be pursued all the way to recovery and accountability.
