Is rural cooperative medical care social security?

Rural cooperative medical system is social security, which is divided into new rural cooperative medical system, social security for employees and social security for urban residents. At present, the social security for urban residents and the new rural cooperative medical system have been merged, both of which are social security for urban and rural residents. The reimbursement scope of rural cooperative medical insurance is as follows:

5. Operating expenses: calculated according to the charging standard approved by the price department;

6. Blood transfusion expenses: the blood transfusion expenses (limited to 500 yuan) incurred in the rescue of critical illness or operation are included in the reimbursement scope, and other blood transfusion expenses are not reimbursed;

7. Material cost: the maximum amount is 2,000 yuan, and all items that are not within the scope of medical insurance reimbursement for urban employees are not included in the scope of reimbursement.

Legal basis: Article 29 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).

The medical expenses of the insured shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund, and shall be directly settled by social insurance agencies, medical institutions and pharmaceutical business units. The administrative department of social insurance and the administrative department of health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses in different places to facilitate the insured to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits.
