How is maternity insurance reimbursed inside social security?
1. The Maternity Insurance Fund compensates units in the form of maternity allowances. Compensation standards are: female workers more than 7 months (including 7 months) of pregnancy delivery or less than 7 months of pregnancy premature birth, enjoy three months of maternity allowance; difficult labor and cesarean section surgery, an additional half a month of maternity allowance, the birth of multiple births, each additional baby, an additional half a month of maternity allowance; more than 3 months (including 3 months) of gestation, less than 7 months of miscarriage, induced abortion, enjoy one and a half months of maternity allowance, 3 months of gestation, less than 7 months of abortion, induced abortion, enjoy one and a half months of maternity allowance. In the case of miscarriage or induced miscarriage during the third month of pregnancy (including the third month) or less, or during the seventh month or less, one and a half months of maternity allowance shall be granted; and in the case of miscarriage for pathological reasons during the third month of pregnancy or less, one month of maternity allowance. The maternity allowance is calculated on the basis of the average monthly maternity insurance contribution salary of the 12 months prior to the prenatal or family planning surgery of the female worker.
2. Maternity nutrition subsidy and perinatal health care subsidy. Any female worker who is eligible to enjoy maternity leave of 90 days or more as stipulated by the State shall be entitled to a maternity nutrition subsidy of RMB 300 yuan and a perinatal health care subsidy of RMB 700 yuan.
3. The one-time maternity subsidy is available to female workers who originally participated in maternity insurance in their units, and who, after becoming unemployed and during the period of receiving unemployment insurance benefits, give birth in accordance with family planning regulations, and are entitled to a one-time maternity subsidy of RMB 400 yuan for a miscarriage, RMB 2,400 yuan for a smooth birth, and RMB 4,000 yuan for a difficult birth or a birth of a multiple birth. For male employees who are covered by maternity insurance and whose spouses are not covered by maternity insurance and are in compliance with family planning regulations for the birth of their first child, they are entitled to a one-time maternity subsidy of 50%.
4. The maternity allowance is compensated to the unit, and the basic salary, bonuses and welfare expenses of the insured female worker are paid by the unit during her maternity leave.
5. Surgical expenses for family planning, including those incurred for the placement (removal) of intrauterine devices, abortions, induced abortions, skin burials, sterilizations and restorative surgeries due to family planning needs, are included in the scope of the Maternity Insurance Fund's settlement.
The scope of non-reimbursement is as follows:
1. Expenses that are not in accordance with the national and provincial urban workers' basic medical insurance and maternity insurance drug catalogs, diagnostic and therapeutic items, medical services and facilities, and the relevant provisions of the management of medical care;
2. Expenses incurred as a result of medical accidents;
3. Expenses incurred for the treatment of maternity complications outside of the period of labor and delivery.
