Insurance types: urban workers and urban residents

In recent years, with the popularization and improvement of the social security system, people pay more and more attention to social security, and many people who have no work units have begun to pay social security for themselves. Due to the high premium of participating in social security for employees as flexible employees, many friends will choose to participate in social security for urban and rural residents, but some friends still do not know about social security for urban and rural residents. So what is social security for urban and rural residents? What's the difference with social security for urban workers?

There are two main forms of social security in China, one is social security for urban workers, and the other is social security for urban and rural residents. Social security for urban and rural residents and social security for urban workers mainly have the following differences:

1. Different insured objects: the insured objects of urban and rural residents' social security are those who have no fixed work units and have not participated in employee social security; Social security for urban workers is aimed at employees who are employed within working age. Without a fixed unit, you can also participate in employee social security as a flexible employee, but usually you can only participate in employee pension insurance and medical insurance.

2. Different types of insurance: social security for urban and rural residents includes endowment insurance for urban and rural residents and medical insurance for urban and rural residents; Social security for urban workers includes five types of insurance: employee pension insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, industrial injury insurance and maternity insurance. Among them, the unit will pay five insurances for employees, while flexible employees can only pay two insurances: endowment insurance and medical insurance.

3. Different payment methods: social security for urban and rural residents is paid annually, and social security for urban workers is paid monthly.

4. Different payment standards: urban and rural residents' pension insurance payment is divided into multiple payment grades, generally ranging from several hundred to several thousand yuan a year. Different regions have different payment standards, and the insured can choose the payment grade that suits them according to their own situation. Residents' medical insurance is currently several hundred yuan a year, and local standards may be different; The social security payment standard of employees is determined according to the average monthly salary of employees in the previous year. The minimum payment base is 60% of the local average social wage in the previous year, and the maximum is 300%. Monthly payment amount = payment base * sum of individual payment ratio of various types of insurance, and the individual payment ratio is relatively low, and most of the expenses are borne by the unit. Flexible employees who participate in employee social security shall bear their own expenses and can choose their own payment grades. The payment base is 60%-300% of the local average social wage in the previous year, but those who meet the conditions can receive subsidies.

5. Different medical treatment: there is no personal account for residents' medical insurance, and the insured generally need to pay the residents' medical insurance fee for the next year from September to June (the specific time varies from place to place). There is no concept of retirement, and the treatment is lower than employee medical insurance. Employees have personal medical insurance accounts, and the payment period of medical insurance can be accumulated. After reaching a certain number of years, you can enjoy lifelong medical security benefits. It should be noted that if flexible employees choose to pay low-grade employee medical insurance, then there is no personal account.

6. Different pension benefits: the pension age of residents is 60 years old; The retirement age of employees' pension insurance is different. Female employees are 50 years old, female cadres are 55 years old and men are 60 years old. The retirement age of female flexible employees can be 50 or 55. Residents' pension benefits are usually lower than employees' pensions.
