What does it mean to report the loss of social security card temporarily?

Loss reporting of social security cards can be divided into temporary loss reporting, oral loss reporting and formal loss reporting in writing. You can report the loss temporarily, then formally, or directly. Temporary loss reporting is valid for 5 days. If the formal loss reporting procedures are not handled within 5 days, the loss reporting will be automatically terminated. The social security card that has been reported lost cannot be used nationwide.

Handling loss reporting process:

(1) Loss reporting of new social security cards can be divided into temporary loss reporting and formal loss reporting. The cardholder can report the loss temporarily first, then formally, or directly formally;

3. The validity period of oral loss reporting is generally about 5- 15 days (different banks have different regulations). 4. During the validity period, the customer can report the loss in writing to the bank with his ID card.

The social security card re-processing process is as follows:

1. Bring your ID card to the social security service window to inform the staff of your purpose and take the number accordingly;

2. Go to the corresponding processing window, fill in the relevant application form according to the requirements of the staff, and review the information;

3. After verification, pay the business card printing fee of the social security card, and you can wait for the new social security card to be processed. The general processing time is about 15 working days. Please ask the staff about the specific time.

4. After receiving your reissued social security card, you can activate the social security account of the social security card at the nearest designated medical insurance pharmacy. In addition, the new social security cards are all financial social security cards with UnionPay logo and financial functions. Therefore, after activating the medical insurance account, remember to activate your financial account in the corresponding bank if necessary.

To sum up, temporary loss reporting can be revoked, but it cannot be revoked after formal loss reporting. There must be a difference between temporary loss reporting and formal loss reporting of social security cards. Temporary loss reporting means that it can't be found now. Then if you find it, you can cancel this temporary loss report. If the loss is officially reported, it means that this social security card is completely lost and needs to be re-processed. The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of its establishment, apply to the local social insurance agency for social insurance registration with its business license, registration certificate or unit seal. The social insurance agency shall, within fifteen days from the date of receiving the application, examine and issue the social insurance registration certificate.

Where the social insurance registration items of the employing unit are changed or the employing unit is terminated according to law, it shall, within 30 days from the date of change or termination, go to the social insurance agency to handle the change or cancellation of social insurance registration.

The market supervision and management department, the civil affairs department and the organization management organ shall promptly inform the social insurance agency of the establishment and termination of the employing unit, and the public security organ shall promptly inform the social insurance agency of the birth, death, household registration, migration and cancellation of the individual.
