Is it okay to pay only old-age insurance and not medical insurance?

Pay only endowment insurance and not medical insurance, as follows:

1, if you are an on-the-job employee in an enterprise, you can't just pay endowment insurance without paying medical insurance;

2. Those who participate in social security for the first time as flexible employees may not pay medical insurance on the basis of paying basic old-age insurance.

Social security is actually what we call social insurance and an important part of the social security system. Refers to an income and compensation system provided for loss of working ability, temporary loss of jobs or losses caused by health reasons. Social insurance includes five specific items, namely, basic old-age insurance system, basic medical insurance system, industrial injury insurance system, industrial injury insurance system and maternity insurance system, which are collectively referred to as five insurances.

Social insurance has three main functions:

1, for the function of stabilizing social life;

2. The function of redistribution;

3. Function of promoting social and economic development.

Article 58 of the Labor Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the employing unit shall handle social insurance registration for employees within 30 days from the date of employment. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.

Tenth employees should participate in the basic old-age insurance, the basic old-age insurance premiums paid by the employer and employees.

Individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in the basic old-age insurance in the employer and other flexible employees can participate in the basic old-age insurance, and individuals pay the basic old-age insurance premium.

The measures for the endowment insurance of civil servants and staff managed by reference to the Civil Service Law shall be formulated by the State Council.
