Can social security be paid across cities?

Social security can cross the market. The social security of enterprise employees shall be paid by the unit where they work. If employees work in other enterprises in different places, the social security should be transferred to the workplace together, and the social security fee should be paid by the work unit locally, so the social security of the original workplace can no longer be paid. If the social security has not been transferred or employees do not work in enterprises in different places, it is ok to pay the social security of the original place of work by themselves, but only medical insurance and endowment insurance can be paid, and other insurances cannot be paid. Moreover, it is not convenient to pay the social security of their original work unit with medical insurance.

If a foreigner is an individual who pays social security, he/she needs to provide his/her household registration book and ID card, and can bring relevant information to your local community or street office for handling. After the insured establishes the basic old-age insurance relationship in the new place of employment and pays the fee, the employer or the insured shall submit a written application for the transfer and continuation of the basic old-age insurance relationship to the social security agency in the new place of insurance.
