Can pregnant units still pay insurance?

Legal analysis: social security can be stopped during pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, you need to stop working during pregnancy, and you can not pay social security during this period. However, you can still choose to continue to pay and enjoy maternity insurance benefits. These types of insurance are usually applied to the relevant authorities within 18 months after the employee gives birth to the baby.

Legal basis: Article 56 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), employees can enjoy maternity allowance in accordance with state regulations under any of the following circumstances: (1) Female employees enjoy maternity leave when giving birth; (2) Enjoy family planning operation leave; (3) Other circumstances stipulated by laws and regulations. Maternity allowance is calculated and paid according to the average monthly salary of employees in the previous year of the employer.
