Is social security universal in China?

At present, the social security laws and regulations in different cities are slightly different, and social security has not yet achieved national overall planning. Therefore, the social security card and some of its functions, such as medical insurance, may not be universal throughout the country. When seeking medical treatment in a different place, it is generally necessary to go to a hospital designated by the Social Security Bureau for medical treatment in a different place before reimbursement can be made. And buying a car and a house in many cities is also closely related to social security. Where people are generally insured, they can only enjoy local benefits.

The process of transferring social security to a new unit is as follows:

1. The original unit submitted a written application for the transfer and continuation of social security relations to the new unit;

4, the new unit to accept the transfer procedures and funds, will confirm the situation in a timely manner to inform the insured.

Article 58

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.
