Can social security be paid for 15 years?

Legal analysis: social security does not need to be paid continuously 15 years. The current policy is that you can enjoy the old-age insurance by paying accumulated contributions 15 years before retirement.

Legal basis: Article 16 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that individuals who have participated in the basic old-age insurance will receive the basic old-age pension on a monthly basis if they have accumulated contributions for fifteen years when they reach the statutory retirement age.

The law requires the payment period to be "cumulative" and does not emphasize "continuous". Therefore, social security contributions can be interrupted halfway, which has no effect on the calculation of accumulated contributions and need not be entangled.

Endowment insurance benefits are approved according to the continuous payment time. If there is interruption of payment, the time of interruption of payment shall be deducted, and the time of termination of payment shall be calculated according to the accumulated payment period from the time of taking part in work or the time of first payment, and the pension shall be calculated according to the flat salary of the year of termination of payment.
