The origin of Baoding's name

Baoding's name comes from the ancient place of security, which was called "Bao" in ancient times. According to legend, during the Qin Dynasty, Qin Shihuang sent officials to this area for rectification to ensure the stability and security of the country. Therefore, this place was named "Insurance". Later, after historical evolution and development, insurance gradually evolved into Baoding and became the official name of the place.

Baoding is located in the west of central Hebei Province, east of Taihang Mountain, west of Jizhong Plain, bordering Bazhou City of Langfang City in the east, Wenan County, Renqiu City, hejian city City and Suning County of Langfang City in the southeast, Anping County of Hengshui City in the south, Shenze County, Wuji County, Xingtang County, Pingshan County and Xinle City of Shijiazhuang City in the southwest, Wutai County, Fan Shi County and Lingqiu County of Shanxi Province in the west.

Baoding belongs to the continental monsoon climate zone of warm temperate zone, and its main climatic characteristics are: four distinct seasons, dry and windy in spring, hot and rainy in summer, rainy and hot in the same season, crisp in autumn and cold and dry in winter. Annual average temperature 13.4℃, 10, monthly average temperature -4.3℃, and July average temperature 26.4℃. The average annual growth period is 280 days, the average annual frost-free period is 2 1 1 day, the longest is 23 1 day (1982), and the shortest is 168 days (19 1 year).

The main attractions of Baoding:

1 Yesanpo: Yesanpo is located in Laishui County, Baoding City. It is a new tourist area, a national 5A-level scenic spot, which consists of seven scenic spots with different functions, namely Bailixia, Juma River, Baicaopan, Fodong Pagoda, Longmen Gorge, Jin Huashan and Sanhuang Mountain.

2. Baishishan: Baishishan is a world geopark, a national 5A scenic spot, located at the south of Laiyuan County, Baoding City 15km, with a core scenic spot area of 54km2 and the highest peak of Foguangding at an altitude of 2096m. Baishishan Scenic Area is a world geological park, a national forest park and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Located at the northernmost part of Taihang Mountain, it stands on the mountains beside Juma River, and consists of marble structure peak forest scenic spot, Shipu Canyon granite waterfall scenic spot and Jumayuan scenic spot.

3. Hushan Scenic Area: Hushan Scenic Area is located in the depths of Taihang Mountain. The main mountain (Tiger Mountain) is named after a boulder at the top of the mountain, which looks like a tiger ready to go. Covering an area of more than 20 square kilometers, the scenic spot is a national 4A-level scenic spot. There are many wonders of ancient gold-panning caves in the mountains. The Gold-panning Cultural Center shows thousands of years of gold-panning history and inherits the ancient gold-panning civilization. Ten thousand acres of jujube forests are everywhere, and there are activities such as picking dates and visiting the brewing process.
