Is Nantong University or Xinjiang University better?

Personal recommendation is better than Xinjiang University. Xinjiang University is a national key university, a university built by the national "2 1 1 Project", and a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the provincial offices of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Nantong University is only a local college in Jiangsu Province, and the place is not a good place in Jiangsu. The above is only from the perspective of the school itself.

Of course, if you are from the south or Jiangsu, it may be more convenient to go to school in Nantong, and the world in Nantong is not necessarily smaller than that in Xinjiang.

Everything should be objective and fair. If you care about the level and popularity of the school, I suggest choosing Xinjiang University. If you consider more from the geographical point of view, Nantong University is recommended.
